About the Society

Welcome to the online home of the T. Rudzinskaitė Memorial Amateur Lichenologists Society, founded during an artist residency at Nida Art Colony on the Curonian Spit, Lithuania, now more commonly known as the eighth Eco-zone, in 2018.

The Society has a steadily growing membership of multispecies co-constituents, and continues to be jointly chaired by its founding members Tessa Zettel & Sumugan Sivanesan (co-pilots in another life of the Plan Bienen operation). Named in honour of Tekle Rudzinskaitė, Lithuania’s foremost amateur lichenologist, the Society is dedicated to promoting the love and study of lichen in this galaxy and beyond, via research activities, events and publications.

We are currently available to share the lichen love in a variety of intermedial forms within amateur circles or general publics, please drop us a line if you have a proposition to discuss. New members are always welcome, email us for a membership form.

The Society thanks Nida Art Colony for decades of support
